Mix a Festive Fresh and Fun St. Patrick’s Day Cocktail with Irish Whiskey
Muddle the melon and cucumber in a mixing glass or cocktail shaker until they break down and release their juices. Add 2 oz of a good-quality Irish whiskey, 3/4 oz simple syrup and 3/4 oz fresh lime juice. Add ice (about three-quarters full), then stir with a bar spoon for about a minute to chill and combine the flavors; you can also shake if you prefer a frothier texture.
Strain or pour the mixture into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice. Top with a splash of soda water or lime-flavored sparkling water to brighten the drink. Garnish with a lime wheel or a thin cucumber slice. For a playful presentation, rub a lime wedge around the glass rim and dip it into green sugar before pouring.
This cocktail is easy to scale for a party—multiply the ingredients and prepare in a pitcher, muddling fruit first and stirring in whiskey, syrup, and lime. Serve immediately for the freshest flavor.
