Hello and welcome to this year’s edition of My Favorite Things. If you enjoy these yearly roundups, you can find past lists from previous years. For newcomers: once or twice a year I share products, media, and small discoveries that were meaningful or useful to me over the last year. Many of these items also make thoughtful gifts.
Giveaway: I’m giving away a 5.8‑quart digital air fryer that my kids gifted me for Mother’s Day last year — we absolutely love it. (See my review below.) To enter, leave a comment below sharing something you are grateful for this month. The giveaway runs from November 20 through December 1. The winner will be announced on Monday, December 2. Good luck!
GoWISE USA 1700‑Watt 5.8‑QT 8‑in‑1 Digital Air Fryer
This air fryer has changed the way we cook at home. It circulates hot air for a crispy exterior and moist interior without needing much oil. We mainly use it to make healthier French fries — I use cooking spray instead of oil and they turn out great. If you want an appliance that helps you prepare lighter versions of your favorite fried foods, this is a solid option.
Lasko Designer Series Ceramic Space Heater — Oscillation, Remote, Built‑in Timer
My husband bought a couple of these space heaters this fall and they’ve been terrific. We keep one in the bathroom and one under my desk. They warm up small spaces quickly, include remote controls, oscillate, and have timers. They’re a convenient, inexpensive way to add targeted warmth where you need it.
Reusable Silicone Drinking Straws (10 pack) and 30oz Vacuum Insulated Tumblers
I’ve come to love reusable silicone straws paired with insulated tumblers. I use my tumblers constantly — one stays in the kitchen and one in the car — and often add a lemon wedge and fresh mint for a refreshing drink. They make it easy to stay hydrated throughout the day.
Echo Dot (3rd Gen) – Smart Speaker with Alexa
Alexa is familiar to most of us, but one feature I especially appreciate is the “drop in” intercom capability. My husband put an Echo device in the kids’ rooms and around the house, so I can quickly check in with them in the morning, call them to dinner, or ask a quick question without shouting down the hall. It’s proved unexpectedly useful for daily family life.
Sunbeam Heated Throw Blanket | Reversible Sherpa/Royal Mink
This heated throw was a gift and I use it constantly. It’s perfect for cozying up during movie nights, reading, or preheating the bed on cold evenings. The adjustable heat settings make it versatile for different situations.
Dr Teal’s Coconut Oil Epsom Salt Soaking Solution
I received these Epsom salts as a gift and they make an indulgent bath. I don’t take baths often, but when I do, they help relax my muscles and leave my skin feeling soft. They’re a simple way to create a spa‑like experience at home.
Glaceau Vitamin Water
Vitamin water has been a helpful alternative to diet soda this year. It’s refreshing and contains vitamins and electrolytes, making it an easy choice when I want a flavored, lighter beverage.
DREAM PAIRS Women’s Mid Calf Fashion Winter Snow Boots
I bought a pair of these gray boots last winter. They have a soft, furry lining that keeps my feet warm, and the neutral color goes with many outfits. They’re comfortable for cold days and look nice too.

Engraveable Mother’s Necklace
A sister‑in‑law gifted me a necklace engraved with my children’s names for Mother’s Day, and I cherish it. Similar engraved necklaces make meaningful gifts for mothers, sisters, or daughters and are a timeless keepsake.
Yoga with Adriene (YouTube)
This year I added yoga to my routine after my sister recommended Adriene’s YouTube channel. Her videos are gentle, encouraging, and accessible for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. The 30‑day yoga challenges were especially helpful in building a consistent practice. Yoga has become restorative and healing for me, improving body awareness and reducing stress.
Poldark (Masterpiece/PBS)
My husband and I have enjoyed Poldark. Set in post‑Revolutionary War England, the series combines beautiful scenery, moving music, and compelling storytelling. If you enjoy historical dramas with rich visuals and strong character work, this show is worth watching.
Life (documentary series narrated by David Attenborough)
Documentaries narrated by David Attenborough have become family favorites. Each episode of Life focuses on a particular form of life, exploring its behavior, survival strategies, and environment. The cinematography is stunning and the narration is captivating — perfect for family viewing and for anyone curious about the natural world.
The Book of Mormon Journal — Pink Floral
The Book of Mormon is a spiritual text I study regularly. The journal edition with wide margins has improved my study time: I can write notes, record insights, and reflect more deeply on passages. Similar journal editions for other scriptures, like the Bible, are also useful for personal study and reflection.
Thanks for reading this year’s list. I hope you found something helpful or inspiring. Wishing you happy holidays and many small joys in the coming season.
