Ice-cold frozen watermelon blended with a touch of lime juice makes an instant, ultra-refreshing watermelon sorbet. This simple frozen treat is one of the most cooling desserts for hot days — super easy to make and no ice cream maker required.

First, we’re going to need some watermelon.
How to tell if a watermelon is ripe:
A ripe watermelon should feel firm and produce a hollow sound when you give it a gentle thump with your hand. Look for a uniform shape and a creamy yellow spot where it sat on the ground — signs that it matured fully.

Frozen desserts are my summer obsession — anything cold and fruity helps beat the heat. When the temperature climbs and all I crave is something icy, this watermelon sorbet is my go-to. It’s bright, naturally sweet, and so simple that kids (and adults) ask for seconds.
About this watermelon sorbet recipe:
This sorbet requires only a few ingredients and a little prep time. I froze leftover cubed watermelon, then pulsed it in a high-powered blender with fresh lime juice and a touch of maple syrup. A splash of water helped it blend smoothly. The result was a velvety, intensely refreshing sorbet that my family couldn’t get enough of. No ice cream maker, no fuss — just pure, fruity flavor.
Watermelon sorbet: refreshing, made with 2–3 ingredients, and perfect for hot-weather snacking.
